Slow Cooker Fire Honey Spiced Apples with Grain Free Topping
This easy slow cook fall recipe is great for those cooler evenings when you want a warm, sweet treat with a little kick. It’s also delicious cold.

Ingredients
- 6- 8 Medium Apples 9 about 6 cups) peeled, cored and sliced
- 1/4 Cup Fire Honey * See recipe linked in notes
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon Arrowroot Powder or Tapioca Flour
- 1/4 Cup Water or Apple Cider Vinegar
- Grain Free Topping:
- 1/2 Cup Almond Flour ( Blanched is best)
- 1/4 Chopped Pecans or Walnuts
- 2 Tablespoon Melted Coconut oil or Butter/ Ghee
- 1 Tablespoon Fire Honey ( or sweetener of your choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Combine Filling: In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with fire honey, lemon juice and arrowroot/tapioca powder
- Transfer to a slow Cooker the filling. If you need to add a little water or Apple cider into the bottom of the slow cooker only if you are worried about sticking
- Prepare Topping: Mix dry ingredients together
- Add wet ingredients melted coconut oil or butter and the fire honey.
- Stir and toss with a fork until well combined and forms large, moist crumbles.
- Cook: on High for 1.5 to 2.5 hours or Low for 3 – 4 hours.
- Check doneness. Apples should be fork tender. And topping set.
- Serve warm with Ice cream, or Whip Cream
