💜, My Name is Susan Martinelli (Faithful 25) Nourishing Your Body and Soul, Naturally.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
🙏 My Foundation: Faith and Gratitude
First and foremost, I give thanks to my Heavenly Father above for all He has blessed me with in my life. I have been a Christian for a very long time, and I am incredibly thankful that our GOD (Yahweh) gave us a Savior who is merciful, gracious to forgive our sins, and full of loving kindness.
Since recently retiring, I have been going through the bible in a year, as well as studying the bible and reading devotionals. This deep dive has brought me closer to Jesus, and the transformation has changed my life in many ways. This is a blessing, and my gratitude is overflowing.
🥕 My Healthy Alternative Lifestyle
The core of my passion for whole food eating began with a personal mission. After my husband was diagnosed with diabetes, I dove into research on the power of nutrition and changed his way of eating. His remarkable improvement became living proof of my philosophy: “If God didn’t make it, don’t eat it.”
Over the years, I’ve cycled through different eating plans, including gluten-free, paleo, and the low-carb/keto diet. The low-carb approach has been the most beneficial, which I’ve followed for a couple of years. Recently, I’ve shifted to focusing on whole, unprocessed foods, adding in fruit and raw honey while still keeping my overall carb intake moderate. I avoid most grains because they typically don’t agree with me, but I’ve successfully started making homemade goods, including breads, with Einkorn flour. Since Einkorn has a lower and different type of gluten, I’ve found it doesn’t cause me any issues. No matter the specific plan, my main focus remains on making my own meals and snacks so I know exactly what’s in them. I suggest anyone looking to adjust their carb intake for weight loss speak to their doctor and look into different resources.
🏃♀️ Exercise and Brain Health
I like to exercise every morning, Monday through Friday, but I ensure I get my exercise daily with videos. My husband and I walk daily if the weather permits, but I still enjoy my exercise programs. I follow along with several different types of exercise programs on YouTube that keep me motivated, and I’ll be sure to share links to some of them. It’s a great way to stay in shape and keep your body physically healthy—we know how important that is as we get older. I also do brain exercises by focusing on word puzzles, crossword puzzles, solitaire, and other card games.
🏡 Family and The Blog
When I’m not writing, I’m blessed to spend time with my three grown boys and six grandchildren, who, though living in another state, are a constant source of inspiration. My hope is to share the joy and vitality that a simple, natural diet can bring to your life and the lives of those you love.
I decided to start my blog, “LivingCleanByFaith,” to share some of my recipes, bible verses, inspirational thoughts, and healthy habits, along with D.I.Y. non-toxic cleaners, facial and body creams, bath bombs, and more that I have been using in my life. Stepping into the world of blogging is a first for me, and honestly, it feels a little like uncharted territory. But my driving force has always been a deep desire to help others, and this is the path I’m choosing to explore right now.
I look forward to blogging about my healthy alternative lifestyle, sharing tips to help people like you who are interested in overall health and spiritual well-being. I hope you’ll enjoy reading my posts and try some of the recipes I share!
