Hello my name is Susan Martinelli. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
First of all I’d like to give thanks to my heavenly father above for all he has blessed me with in my life. I have been a Christian for a very long time, although I may not have practiced my Christianity all the time I never gave up my faith. I am very thankful that our GOD gave us all a savior and that he is merciful, gracious to forgive our sins and is full of loving kindness. Since I have recently retired I have been going through the bible in a year as well as studying the bible and reading devotionals. This has brought me closer to Jesus. The transformation has changed my life in many ways. This is a blessing and my gratitude is overflowing.
I decided to start my blog “ LivingCleanByFaith” to share some of my recipes, bible verses, inspirational thoughts, healthy habits along with D.I.Y. non toxic cleaners, facial and body creams, bath bombs and more that I have been using in my life. “Stepping into the world of blogging is a first for me, and honestly, it feels a little like uncharted territory. But my driving force has always been a deep desire to help others, and this is the path I’m choosing to explore right now.”
In addition to my writing life, I am the proud parent of three grown sons and a delighted grandparent to six wonderful grandchildren. They bring immense joy and a different perspective to my world.
Gluten intolerance has been with me since I entered my fifties. Thanks to my mother and my very dear friend Rose who noticed that the symptoms I was experiencing sounded like gluten sensitivity to them. Once I stopped eating gluten, most of the symptoms I had were gone, so I stayed away from all things gluten. This kicked off my journey to healthy eating and learning ways to revamp standard recipes and even creating my own recipes for my healthy lifestyle.
Over the years, I have tried the gluten-free diet, the paleo diet, and the low-carb/keto diet. I have been following the keto/low-carb diet for a couple of years now, and it has helped tremendously. In the past couple of months, I started adding fruit and raw honey to my eating plan, but I still keep the carbs low (ideally, I read that keeping under 200 grams a day is best). However, if you’re looking to lose weight, keeping carbs under 50 grams or less per day is better, depending on how fast you want to lose weight. I suggest you check out a few videos and speak to your doctor. I do not eat any grains, as I don’t do well with them. No matter which healthy-eating plan I follow, I focus on making my own meals and snacks so I know exactly what’s in them.
I like to exercise every morning Monday through Friday and keep my weekends free for possibly walking with my husband if we can’t do it during the week. I follow along with several different types of exercise programs on YouTube that keep me motivated, which I will share links to some of them. It’s a great way to stay in shape and keep your body physically healthy. We Know how important that is as we get older.
I also do brain exercises. I like to do word puzzles, crossword puzzles, solitaire card games and I do brain exercises from this app: BrainHQ.
I look forward to blogging information about my healthy alternative lifestyle with tips to help people like you that are Interested in overall health and spiritual well being.
I hope that you will enjoy reading my posts, and try some of the recipes.
