My mornings start with a prayer placing the Armor of GOD upon my husband, myself, our friends and our neighbors, then I pour a cup of coffee and read a devotional from the “today in the word” app. This helps me set the tone for my day. Then I go through my emails and possibly check social media.

Update 8/20/25:

For a long time, my mornings have followed a familiar rhythm of coffee, devotional time, and Bible study. This routine has been a source of comfort and spiritual grounding. However, about a month ago, a chance encounter challenged me to re-examine what I thought I knew about my faith, and my mornings have started to look a little different as a result.

It all started with a lovely couple I met at the grocery store. As we chatted, our conversation turned to faith, and they began to share some thought-provoking ideas. They talked about how religion, our understanding of our savior, and even the very history of our heritage might not be what we’ve been led to believe. They suggested that certain things might have been left out of the Bible as we know it, and their words sparked a sense of curiosity and a deep need to understand more.

Their words stayed with me, and I felt compelled to do my own research. I started with a website they mentioned, Christogenia.org, and began watching videos on YouTube. What I found was both eye-opening and challenging. I was starting to see that some of what they said had merit, and it led me down a rabbit hole of discovery.

After a couple of weeks of diving into this new world, I called the couple back and asked for their guidance. They didn’t tell me what to believe, but instead encouraged me to compare different bibles. They specifically mentioned the Septuagint and the Apocrypha, and suggested getting a concordance to help with the comparisons. So now, my mornings are less about a singular routine and more about a dedicated time of deep study. I’m no longer just reading; I’m comparing texts, cross-referencing ideas, and continuing to watch videos to better understand the history and context of these different translations

This journey is still very much in its early stages, and I don’t have all the answers. But what I do have is a newfound sense of purpose in my spiritual walk. It’s no longer just about a routine; it’s about a quest for deeper truth. My mornings are a testament to this ongoing exploration, and I am excited to see where this path leads.

My routine may have changed, but my ultimate purpose has only grown stronger. This new journey is forging a more profound connection to our creator and giving my spiritual walk a renewed sense of purpose and peace.
